Being a boymom is probably the best thing I have ever experienced in my life! I get to enter a world that I have never been invited to before. I have an older brother and growing up I was introduced to the boy world with cars, trucks, dinosaurs, and wrestling. I even got to be the test dummy for my brother try out his newest moves. But, even then the world of boys was not something I understood. I just never could fully comprehend the full aspect of boyhood.

But, now that I have two of them, that I have raised from the start, I think I am getting the hang of this boy thing. For the most part anyway. They love to be messy and can run around outside, all day, without shoes! But, in between the cars and trucks, dinos and light sabers, superheroes and comic books they give the best snuggles ever and they love me unconditionally and me them. Now that they are growing up the days of little boyhood are coming to an end. We are entering into big boyhood and that means sports!!! Basketball, football, tennis, the works! But, what to do with all that equipment in the car, times two. I needed something to keep all the balls from rolling around in the back of the car, plus keep it all organized as best I can. This simple sports equipment storage for the car works perfectly for us.

With just a few items, seriously only 3 items! Couldn't be simpler and easy to create. Now, when I open the back end of my SUV, the balls don't go flying out. It keeps everything in one place and we are not searching every where for our tennis racquets.

What you need:

  • Storage container. Long and short works best.
  • Strips of sticky back velco. I used a long roll and cut to size.
  • Scissors
  • Sports equipment

1. Flip storage container over so the bottom is facing up.

2. Cut plastic bristle side of velcro into 4 strips.

3. Peel backing off of velcro and attach to the corner of the container.

4. Repeat on the other 3 corners.

5. Flip container over and move into place. Since my car trunk end is carpet, I did not need to use the other softer side of the velcro strips. It attaches perfectly to the floor as is. Be careful when moving into place, it attaches well!

6. Fill with equipment, balls, etc. Love that it keeps the balls from rolling around.

When the boys get in the car after practice they are stinky and sweaty. YUK! Add in the outside pollutants and odors, it's not a great combination. I had no idea our car contained a place for a cabin air filter to help filter the dust, dirt, and allergens entering the car. After all this time too! My oldest son suffers from enviornmental allergies and finding out about FRAM Fresh Breeze® cabin air filter for the car is amazing!!!! I cannot believe no one told me about this sooner! The best part about it was that I was able to install it all by myself in just about 5 minutes.

The cabin air filter is behind your glove box. There are two black plastic knobs that you turn, one on each side, and your glove box will fold down.

Once you have removed the knobs you will see this long rectangle compartment with X's across. There are 4 tabs, 2 on bottom and 2 on top, push down on all 4 at the same time to pull out.

Once it's out there will be a tray to place the FRAM Fresh Breeze® cabin air filter in, arrows down. Mine was empty! I can't believe we didn't have a filter in there before. I can't believe I didn't know this was even here! Just think of all the pollutants my kids have been inhaling all this time!

Now, just place back into the slot, replace the knobs for the glove box and you're good to go. So simple and so easy. Now, I know that the air in my car is so much healthier then before.

FRAM Fresh Breeze® cabin air filter filters up to 98%* of dust, dirt and allergens from entering your vehicle. Plus, it is the only cabin air filter that uses the ARM & HAMMER® baking soda for its natural deodorizing qualities. Follow recommended change intervals as noted in your vehicle owner’s manual
