I created 25 of these countdown activities, one for each day, (I did 25 to make the night before Christmas extra special with 2 activities). Each countdown card includes something fun they can do like bake Christmas cookies, read a Christmas book, make a Christmas ornament or craft, drive around the neighborhood to look at lights, and our yearly tradition of a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt, that is our favorite. I am sharing our free printable of our scavenger on the blog here.
The boys love doing this every year, so this year I am sharing our Christmas countdown with everyone. Simply download, print, and cut. You can then put your cards in whatever you like to help count down. Wrap 25 books with a card inside each one, place in a sack and label with 25 numbers, or do like we did and place all inside a custom canvas bag with glitter numbers. I hand made our canvas bags. I just purchased these bags online and using heat transfer vinyl, I cut out the numbers 1-24 and ironed them on. Using a piece of twine and clothes pins, I attached each bag, filled with an activity card. You can also add some holiday candy or little Christmas trinket to the bags for extra fun.
